316 - Closed

It's a common opinion that building and running RC cars is a losers thing, but I love RC cars.
In my opinion talking and writing about things that I can't do is most for losers.
Unfortunately living in this floating jail avoid me to follow my passions and my passions regard mostly the invention of the wheel and its bind with legs, engines and motors.
So I quit with this blog, it will remains on line but it won't be updated because I haven't new stuff to share.

315 - Another Claim To The Big Names!

From a few I got some problems with my eyes that sometimes become much dry and it prevents me work on my little cars and to stand to much on the PC (that is a bigger problem considering that I'm an office worker).

Being away from the work bench means that I surf the Web (eyes allowing) reading about RC cars things.

One of the thing that I strive to avoid and that seems to be the mainstream choice about brushed ESC is the use of the Hobbywing Quicrun 1060 ESC.

I own one of them, it comes with in a box that imitates Novak and Tekin boxes sizes in the good old days but it seems to be more suited for a stupid chinese bluetooth device.

The thing that I dont really like is that there are a lot of beautiful cars: new builds and restomod projects that unfortunately falls in quality when I notice wich ESC is used.

To be honest: I'm not interested about its performances or whathever because I will continue to look for something that will looks cool as the ESCs in the good ol days, that carries the appeal of the golden era and that doesen't come from China.

So my daily claim to the big names of the RC industry is about brushed ESC: you own the know-how, keep this hobby great offering to old guys something cool to put in their little cars!

314 - Tamiya BBX: Front Dampers Connectors

In building my Tamiya BBX I've been a little disappointed by the plastic X5 ball connectors used in the lower attach of front dampers. I didn't thought it again 'till today when I've seen that Tamiya suggest as replacement the #54503 Hop-Up Options Buggy Damper Aluminum Suspension Ball (OP-1503).
To be honest I prefer to upgrade my cars to give them more durability instead to spare some grams (or less) in weight so I have to check in my screws boxes if there are some leftovers that will fit.
